After researching the subject through multiple databases, much evidence was found. One of the most interesting findings is that the amount of time spent playing video games holds little weight compared to the type of game violence (Sherry, 2001). Violent video game exposure has also been found to increase aggressive thoughts, angry feelings, physiological arousal, and aggressive behaviors (Carnagey, 2006). One of the articles also talked about video game violence’s effects on desensitizing people to real-life violence (Carnagey, 2006). In addition, Greitemeyer and McLatchie’s (2010) study found that violent video games played an important role in dehumanizing those who played the victim in a scenario observed by violent video game players.
